Advancing Women in the Evolving DEIB Landscape

The topic of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging has come into the crossfire once again. The 2023 US Supreme Court decision on affirmative action, rabid politicization, and wavering executive commitments are slowing forward momentum that once seemed unstoppable.

Are we facing a change in vision, a reduced commitment, or a repositioning to ensure the work still gets done? How do companies and institutions continue to invest in women in the face of pressing headwinds? How do we continue to develop the pipeline and ensure qualified women are hired, retained, and promoted? Is it time to reimagine DEIB and what comes next?

Join us in this candid discussion of issues impacting the current and future outlook of the evolving DEIB landscape and what leaders need to understand and prioritize in order to help women thrive in the workplace.

Gender and Power – How Definitions of Power Affect Women in the Workplace

“Power” as a concept is hard to pin down. Yet, the feeling of power, as well as its utility as a commodity, can have a profound impact on women at work. As contemporary research suggests, the intersection of gender and power continues to shape career trajectories, influence workplace culture, and affect organizational outcomes in significant ways. Recent studies highlight persistent gender disparities in leadership positions, pay equity, and professional opportunities.

Despite comprising a substantial portion of the workforce, women remain underrepresented in top executive roles. What is driving this power imbalance?  Does it stem from systemic biases, societal norms, or something else?

Our panel will explore these critical issues, providing insights into how power structures can be redefined to foster gender equality. Panelists will share their experiences of navigating power dynamics and offer actionable solutions for dismantling barriers that impede progress.

Join us for a thought-provoking discussion that not only illuminates the current landscape of gender and power in the workplace but also inspires collective action toward a more equitable future for all women in the workplace.
