Coquese Washington was named the third full-time head coach in the history of Rutgers women's basketball in May of 2022. A three-time Big Ten Coach of the Year and WNBA Champion, Washington arrived "On the Banks" with extensive experience in program building and coaching championship-caliber basketball. During her first two seasons at the helm of the Scarlet Knights, Washington set a solid foundation for the team, guiding the program to its 1,000th win in program history, picking up her 100th Big Ten win, and helping celebrate the historic 50th season of Rutgers Women’s Basketball. Washington has seen multiple student-athletes set personal, program, and Big Ten records under her guidance, as well as earn national recognition with multiple awards.
