Alex Van Zant is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Management and Global Business at Rutgers Business School. He holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration from the UC Berkeley Haas School of Business, where he specialized in Organizational Behavior. His research broadly examines strategies people can use to project a positive image and enhance their influence, along with the factors that can lead their attempts at influence to veer into unethical behavior that harms relationships. Much of his work has investigated gender dynamics in interpersonal interactions, including how gender influences trust and negotiator deception. It has been published or accepted for publication in journals such as Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, Journal of Applied Psychology, Psychological Science, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin, and Journal of Experimental Social Psychology.
