Jeff Metzler is a Partner at Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman, where he handles complex civil litigation, investigations, and appeals in a wide range of areas, from civil rights and discrimination claims to commercial disputes. Prior to joining Pillsbury, Jeff was an Associate General Counsel at New York University and served in a variety of government roles, including Acting General Counsel for the New York City Council, Assistant Solicitor General for New York State, and law clerk for the Honorable Diana Gribbon Motz on the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.
Jeff holds a J.D. from Yale Law School, a master’s in public administration from Columbia, and a Bachelor’s degree from Brown University. Jeff has taught Law and Public Policy and guest lectures on the Law of Higher Education for NYU. He speaks regularly on topics relating to DEIB and civil rights.
