Rebecca Stotzer, PhD, MS, MSW

Dr. Rebecca L. Stotzer (MSW, MS, PhD) is a Professor of Social Work at the Thompson School of Social Work and Public Health at the University of Hawai'i at Manoa. She is also the Department Chair, the Director of Distance Education, and the Takasaki Endowed Chair for Social Policy. Her research has focused on the ways that gender is negotiated and enacted, particularly as it relates to violence, in our changing society. She has studied anti-LGBT violence and hate crimes, bias and discrimination, and other forms of prejudice-motivated violence. Most recently, she has begun exploring toxic gendered spaces on the internet, particularly those created by women, including tradwife communities and feminine coaches.
