Erin Grau

Chief Operating & AI Officer of The San Francisco Standard

Erin Grau is the Chief Operating & AI Officer of The San Francisco Standard, which acquired Charter, the future of work media company she co-founded. Erin is an inaugural resident of Gloria Steinem's Foundation, where her work is focused on women, AI, and economic opportunity. For two decades, Erin has guided organizations through transformation at the intersection of talent and operations. Before Charter, Erin served as VP of Transformation and Digital Operations at The New York Times, and led people, strategy, and operations at Away. 

As a thought leader on work and leadership, Erin’s insights appear in leading publications including TIME, The Wall Street Journal, and Fortune. Erin holds a B.A. in Journalism from NYU and is a graduating fellow of the Sulzberger Executive Leadership program at Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism, where her concentration was women at work and change management. She lives in New York City with her husband and two daughters, who know her as both Mom and their Girl Scout Troop Leader.
