Anja Krstić, PhD

Dr. Anja Krstić is an Associate Professor in the School of Human Resource Management at York University. Her program of research involves studying equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) in the workplace, with a particular focus on the work-family interface and how it can influence employees' career trajectories, leadership opportunities, and workplace experiences. Drawing on interdisciplinary perspectives, her work explores topics such as parental leaves, barriers to women’s advancement into leadership positions, and examining interventions to help close the gender gap. Through this work, she seeks to identify how organizational practices and policies can foster more equitable and inclusive workplaces.

Her research has been published in leading academic journals, including the Journal of Applied PsychologyPsychology of Women Quarterly, and Sex Roles. Her work has also reached broader audiences through publications such as Harvard Business Review and The Conversation, where she translates research findings into practical insights for employers, policymakers, and the public. Additionally, her work has been recognized for its societal impact through awards such as the Responsible Research in Management Award and runner-up for the Financial Times Responsible Business Education Award for Academic Research with Impact.

Anja earned her PhD in Organizational Behaviour/Human Resource Management from Wilfrid Laurier University. She currently serves as Past-Chair of the Canadian Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (CSIOP), where she provides leadership to a national community of researchers, practitioners, and students. She also serves on the Editorial Board of the Academy of Management Journal.
